Your opportunity

Join us at Mission Australia as a Project Officer and play a key role in delivering projects that create lasting impact for people and communities across Australia.

Sitting at the heart of our Enterprise Project Management Office, you will support the coordination and delivery of a wide range of initiatives, from managing project reporting and governance to driving process improvements and embedding change across the organisation. You’ll work closely with Project Managers, business leaders, and service teams, ensuring risks are managed, stakeholders are engaged, and outcomes are achieved.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Provide project coordination and support across multiple initiatives, ensuring delivery aligns with Mission Australia’s project management framework.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation including governance reports, status updates, agendas, minutes, logs, and registers.
  • Monitor and track risks, issues, dependencies, and decisions, escalating where necessary and supporting proactive problem solving.
  • Support change management and stakeholder engagement activities, including preparing communication and training materials.
  • Coordinate and streamline project processes, contributing to continuous improvement of Enterprise Project Management Office practices.
  • Facilitate meetings and workshops for project streams, ensuring outcomes are captured and shared effectively.
  • Manage project reporting and data analysis, including portfolio reporting, budgets, forecasts, and variance tracking.
  • Maintain project information systems and tools such as MS Teams, ServiceNow, dashboards, and templates to ensure accurate and accessible project information.

Requirements for success

  • At least 2 years’ experience supporting or coordinating complex projects, ideally within large-scale organisations.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the project lifecycle, concepts, and terminology, with a proven track record in project coordination.
  • Strong skills in preparing reports, documentation, and presentations, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience with project reporting tools (such as ServiceNow) and data analysis, with Power BI and database management experience highly regarded.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Project, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint) with advanced skills in Excel and Word; Visio experience desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and time management skills, with the ability to stay focused and deliver results under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across diverse stakeholders.
  • No formal qualifications required; however, Project Management qualifications (such as PRINCE2, PMBOK or Agile) will be highly regarded.

Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
