Acting as the local face of the JPM Private Bank (based in Sydney), the Prospector builds relationships with prospective clients, conducts initial needs assessments, and generates a robust pipeline of qualified leads. Job Summary
As a Prospector within J.P. Morgan's Private Banking business, you will be the face of our operations. Your role will be pivotal in new client acquisition and retention, leveraging your extensive knowledge of Private Banking (investments, banking, trust services, and wealth planning). You will be responsible for enhancing the client experience and utilizing our resources to deliver a comprehensive wealth management solution. This role provides an exciting opportunity to increase our market share in the Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) segment in Australia.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a strategy to increase our market share in the UHNW segment in Australia 
  • Prospect and acquire new clients and new assets from new and existing clients
  • Implement sales of investment, banking and trust/estate products to core prospects as appropriate
  • Leverage and coordinate specialists (Investor, Lending Advisor, philanthropy advisor and Wealth Advisor) to provide interdisciplinary expertise for our most complex clients
  • Manage client and prospects  profile to guarantee the profiles are properly maintained and serviced, specifically adhering to J.P. Morgan Risk Management policies
  • Build trust with prospects and clients and effectively manage relationships
  • Ensure that the proposed products and services maximize the clients' needs, goals and objectives
  • Organize & involve in local events to build the network with UHNW segment in Australia
  • Work with team members in preparing presentations and proposals, and send out various proposal items to clients on request
  • Measure performance by objectives using specific financial metrics and client satisfaction objectives.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills 

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Private Banking working with Ultra High Net individuals and families or related fields within financial services in Australia, and a strong Australian network
  • Experience or demonstrated understanding of investments, banking and trust concepts including, but not limited to: asset allocation on structured portfolios, managed portfolios, brokerage accounts,  portfolio reviews, deposit and loan solutions, basic trust and estate products and identification of wealth planning opportunities
  • Previous business development experience to develop new client relationships is essential
  • Proven sales success including: prospecting, profiling, overcoming objections, negotiation, team selling approach, closing the sale and asking for referrals
  • Excellent communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
