The QA Lead will oversee QA efforts within an Agile team, mentor quality engineers, develop testing strategies, and communicate project risks and statuses.
We are growing and looking for an experienced Quality Lead with a Software QA/QE background to join our Agile software development team. As part of a small, collaborative team, you'll be a subject matter expert with immediate impact on our fast-growing payments processing platform. The Quality Lead oversees and actively participates in day-to-day embedded testing within the Agile Delivery team — balancing hands-on technical work with mentoring, workload delegation, and cross-team alignment. You'll partner closely with your manager to review and improve QA artifacts, tools, and strategies, while ensuring testing efforts across divisions are well-aligned and integrated into a comprehensive regression and performance suite.
Responsabilities
- Leading and working alongside a team of Quality Engineers and SDETs
- Driving the development and execution of test strategies across all phases of the development lifecycle (functional, regression, integration, and performance)
- Developing automated tests, tools, and pipelines with emphasis on efficiency
- Coaching and mentoring team members on quality methods and best practices
- Supporting the Quality Manager in project management, stakeholder communication, and release reporting
- Collaborating with product and development teams to understand requirements, troubleshoot failures, and ensure a great customer experience
- Championing quality practices organization-wide and providing relevant quality metrics
Must have for this role
- Experience: 5+ years in a fast-paced QA role with 5+ years in a lead capacity
- Testing expertise: Deep knowledge across all testing phases (unit, functional, system, regression, load, UAT), the Test Pyramid, shift-left principles, and Web UI, API, and performance testing
- Test planning & metrics: Proven ability to decompose requirements into test cases, establish metrics programs, and develop predictive quality reporting
- Communication & risk: Ability to assess project risk, report test status clearly, and connect quality outcomes to broader business goals
- Tools & environment: Experience with Jira, Agile (Scrum/Kanban), and TDD; JavaScript required; Postman and Cypress highly desired (or equivalent GUI/API tools)
- Nice to have: Knowledge of DevOps principles and cloud infrastructure
Nice to have for this role
- Fintech & compliance: Payments/ACH processing background, familiarity with NACHA and PCI compliance standards
- DevOps & cloud: CI/CD tools (e.g. Jenkins), infrastructure as code (Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker), AWS services (EC2, S3, SNS, Lambda), and microservices experience
