Our Engineering teams at Qantaslink maintain our own aircraft for our regional domestic fleet. With state-of-the-art equipment and resources, our commitment to professional excellence ensures our customers' safety. Our experience sets us apart.  

Our engineering apprenticeship is a four-year program combining theory training with our RTO partners, in-house training courses, and practical On-the-job training in our Engineering businesses. You’ll rotate through relevant business areas applicable to the relevant trade, receiving hands-on training on Qantas Group aircraft.  

Sydney trade opportunities will be Mechanical only. Typically your role will include;  

Mechanical Apprentice - maintains, inspect and undertake fault diagnosis of airframe, engine systems and mechanical components and accessories on aircraft. These include undercarriage, wheels and brakes, pressurisation, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, flight control systems, engine control systems and environmental control systems.  

You’ll have –  

  • A demonstrated mechanical aptitude with an eagerness to learn a hands-on trade  
  • Good manual dexterity with the ability to use a range of hand tools 
  • A proactive attitude toward learning and applying safe work practices 
  • A high level of drive and enthusiasm to build a career in aviation  
  • Exceptional teamwork  
  • Excellent communications skills both verbal and written  
  • Australian Citizenship or hold Australian Permanent Residency Status  
  • Ability to work all shift patterns  
  • Must be available to start work from early 2027
