Job Description

We're currently in the market for a Medical Receptionist to join our Kent Street Clinic on a Permanent Part-time basis.

Working 2 days a week (flexible with days) and fortnightly Saturdays, your hours will rotate weekly between 6.30am–3pm, 9am–5.30pm & 7:30am-4pm.

While this is a part-time position, we're seeking someone with the flexibility to increase their hours when required to support the team during periods of annual leave and unexpected absences. Due to the specialised nature of the role, the ability to provide additional coverage at short notice will be highly regarded.

In this role, you'll provide front desk reception and administrative support across the clinic — a varied position where your customer service and administrative skills will be put to use supporting our patients and the wider team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and check in patients, providing a warm and professional first point of contact
  • Manage phone and email enquiries, appointment bookings and scheduling
  • Handle patient administration, including Medicare, private health fund and billing processes
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
  • Liaise with nursing, medical and administrative staff to support smooth clinic operations
  • Assist with general clinic administration and ad hoc support as required

Qualifications

We're looking for someone with front desk medical reception experience who can bring both efficiency and empathy to a fast-paced, patient-facing environment.

  • Previous experience in medical reception or a similar patient-facing healthcare admin role
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a genuine, caring approach to patients
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Confidence using practice management and Microsoft Office software
  • A team player who thrives in a busy clinic environment

Additional Information

Our staff tell us it is the people they work with that makes them stay, the Genea family. That, and our exceptional success rates. It is pretty special working for one of Australia's leading IVF clinics.

And what's in it for you?

We know it's important to look after our staff, so Genea offers a number of perks including;

  • Glow – Our online recognition and rewards portal. Access discounts at over 350+ retailers as well as recipes, fitness classes and mindfulness sessions
  • Learning and development – Ongoing opportunities for continuous education through Education Days, internal development, conference opportunities and companywide initiatives
  • Certified Family Friendly workplace 2025/26
  • Genea is committed to providing a workplace that is diverse, equitable and inclusive. It is important to us that our hiring process is accessible and open to all — we welcome applications from Indigenous Australians, people with disability, people from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, mature age workers and LGBTIQA+ people.
