Job Description:

As Regional Client Engagement Manager for Australia and New Zealand, you will be responsible for building new business, driving sales growth, managing customer and distributor relationships, and ensuring successful execution of Microchip’s business strategies in the region. You will be expected to lead and coach a team to reframe the client’s thinking and build consensus for Microchip’s solutions, co-creating value by delivering clients the freedom to innovate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to grow Microchip’s business within the region, achieving revenue and market share targets.

  • Drive and maintain strong relationships with key clients, distributors, and partners.

  • Identify new business opportunities and expand Microchip’s presence in the region.

  • Utilize Microchip’s Client Engagement Process to drive design wins to revenue at selected target clients.

  • Identify the key client stakeholders and coach them to build consensus for Microchip’s solutions within their organizations.

  • Communicate effectively with Microchip’s product divisions to provide quantifiable feedback and ROI for their investments in clients.

  • Develop tailored sales tools and systems to deliver differentiated services to clients.

  • Investigate market trends, competitor activities, and client demands to identify growth opportunities, and share with internal and global team.

  • Provide insights and recommendations to senior management to make informed strategic decisions.

  • Oversee day-to-day operations in the region, manage budgets, forecasts, financial performance, and ensure alignment with corporate policies and objectives, as well as compliance with local regulations and industry standards.

  • Collaborate with global marketing team to develop and implement regional marketing initiatives, work closely with engineering, marketing, and product development teams to ensure regional efforts align with corporate goals.

  • Establish individual CEM annual goals and lead the team towards the collective goal, while also conducting regular business review with team members to define action plans.

  • Lead and coach a team of sales and technical professionals in the region, foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.

  • Ensure team success through open communication, mentorship, performance management, and by individually coaching team members to overcome obstacles and support development.

  • Provide regular reports on regional performance, market conditions, and customer feedback.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.

  • Proven experience in sales, business development, or regional management within the semiconductor or electronics industry.

  • Strong technical knowledge of microcontrollers, analog devices, connectivity devices and embedded systems.

  • Proven leadership and team management experience.

  • Strong understanding of the Australia and New Zealand market landscape.

  • Willingness to travel extensively within the region, and occasionally internationally.

  • Manage and motivate teams to achieve high performance– Provide timely guidance and feedback to help strengthen the team’s knowledge and skills needed to accomplish goals, planning employee development, ensuring clear communication, and empowering individuals by appropriate delegation to excel beyond their current capabilities.  

  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities– Effectively assessing situations, identifying pattern, evaluate options, and making informed decisions based on thorough analysis.

  • Ownership– Demonstrate a strong sese of ownership by going the extra mile to complete tasks, showing relentless drive for results, independence, and initiative.
