The Role
We’re seeking to engage a Regional Director – Energy Transition ANZ to join our team. The role can be based in Sydney / Brisbane / Melbourne and is hybrid in nature (3 days in the office 2 days from home, with additional flexible work arrangements that can be discussed if required). In this role you’ll be responsible for providing leadership and operational direction to the activities of Energy Transition ANZ in collaboration with the other discipline leaders and in consideration of the wider SJ Group business.
You’ll ensure the operational and technical excellence and performance of Energy Transition ANZ with the effect of growing the SJ Group Infrastructure function through optimal people, commercial, business development, client relationship management and project performance.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Identify and build sustainable relationships with key clients;
- Develop client related actions for the short, medium and long term aligned with SJ Group’s overall vision and business objectives;
- Provide Business Development leadership to employees and Managers within ANZ
- Develop and execute cyclical and responsive sb sector operating plans for the [ANZ] aligned to the overall SJ Group strategic plan for the sector;
- Recruit, develop, lead, and manage employees in the achievement of the global operational plans;
- Ensure excellence in all operational, technical and business development activities within the portfolio;
- Optimise resourcing across the Region and Globally according to Client and Sub Sector needs and ensure clarity in structure and reporting lines for individual employees;
- Clear and effective communication and consultation with internal and external stakeholders;
- Resolve project issues within the region and ensure project product is of high quality.
- Budget management, including review and maintaining budgeted utilisation levels;
- Business reporting, including monthly financials (project and business plans);
- Recommend sector budgets to the SJ Group Sub Sector Executive Director;
- Oversight of financial and management reporting against market plans;
- Work with appropriate Business Function partners to structure a workforce that effectively operates disciplines, functions and client delivery on a regional and global basis;
- Ensure that teams of excellence are created globally and within the region and that resources are deployed in a manner that optimises outcomes for clients nationally;
About You
Suitable applicants will be/have:
- Tertiary qualifications in appropriate discipline (essential)
- Post graduate qualifications in appropriate discipline (highly regarded)
- Project Management qualification (desirable)
- Circa 15+ years’ industry experience managing large scale multi-disciplinary projects successfully, to budget and client specifications
- In depth knowledge of the relevant Industry Standards and the application of these standards;
- Thorough understanding of the external market and skills to translate this knowledge to strategies, projects and people;
- High level communication skills, including negotiating and resolving highly complex commercial, technical and people matters;
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and theories and capacity for continuous learning;
- Ability to lead and manage multi-disciplinary teams across multiple locations;
- Actively participates in industry forums and workshops;
- Strong leadership and motivational ability;
- Analytical, conceptual and creative thinking, coupled with customer orientation, proven management skills and commercial and business awareness.
