Downer is seeking an experienced Regional Manager - Northern NSW to lead our asphalt, spray seal and civil operations across the region stretching from Newcastle to the Queensland border. This role can be based out of anyone of our depots at Teralba, Tamworth, Moree, Grafton, Lismore or Chinderah.
This is a strategic leadership role with responsibility for business growth, operational performance, client engagement and the development of high-performing teams across the region. This role offers the opportunity to influence business performance, strengthen key client partnerships and develop a sustainable and scalable operational footprint across Northern NSW.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and develop multiple operational teams across Northern NSW.
- Drive profitable growth through targeted project acquisition, tendering and business development activities.
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with Local Government Authorities and key industry stakeholders.
- Maximise operational performance through effective utilisation of labour, plant and materials.
- Oversee forecasting, budgeting, cost control and financial performance across the region.
- Build and manage a robust supply chain, including supplier and subcontractor relationships.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, quality and service delivery.
- Provide strong leadership, coaching and development to create an engaged, high-performing workforce.
- Champion a strong safety-first culture and embed Downer's Zero Harm principles across all operations.
ABOUT YOU
- Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
- Extensive leadership experience within civil construction, road infrastructure, asphalt, spray seal or related industries.
- Ideally 10+ years' experience in a similar senior operational leadership role.
- Demonstrated success managing large-scale operations, projects or business units.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyse financial performance and drive profitable outcomes.
- Proven experience developing strategic client relationships and securing new business opportunities.
- Outstanding leadership capability with a track record of building engaged and high-performing teams.
- Exceptional stakeholder management, negotiation and influencing skills.
- A strong commitment to safety, environmental performance and operational excellence.
