Job Description

As a Telstra Rigging Telecommunications Trainee, you will work alongside a mentor offering you ongoing coaching, support and mentoring during your traineeship. We will build on your current strengths, attributes and values and provide you the technical skills required to start a career in one of Australia's fastest growing industries.
As a Trainee Rigger you will be provided with all the necessary equipment (Including a company vehicle, phone and clothing) to do your work. You'll also receive Telecommunication Technology Cert III training during the traineeship along with High-Risk Work Licenses.
Your role involves assisting in the provision of technical service, solutions and support to the networks, infrastructure, products and services supplied and operated by Telstra, giving you the opportunity to kick start your career in a supportive team environment.
You will actively participate in a diverse team environment to deliver the optimum customer and commercial outcomes aligned to Telstra's values and strategy.
Current location in demand: NSW - Sydney/Newcastle

To be considered for the opportunity you will need the following skills & attributes:

  • Ability to follow strict Occupational Health and Safety instructions and practices
  • Ability to work at heights up to or above 100 meters
  • Ability to work and travel away from home
  • Physically fit and healthy to climb and work on towers at heights
  • Ability to undergo pre-employment medical and drug alcohol screening
  • Ability to undertake a police check
  • Professional and polite communication
  • Be technically minded

This offer is a 12-month fixed term contract with opportunity for a permanent contract thereafter.
Qualifications:

  • A valid driver's license.
  • No prior qualifications need.
  • Language, Literacy and Numeracy assessment undertaken by RTO.
