The role

The Risk & Compliance Manager supports Lendi’s first line business by providing pragmatic and timely risk advice, as well as by monitoring and assessing business performance against Lendi Group’s risk appetite and risk profile. The role plays an important part in driving smart risk management practices to build Lendi’s risk maturity. Smart risk management requires innovative thinking (such as using automation and AI technologies in control design), an agile way of working and taking a pragmatic and commercial approach when supporting the business to make risk/reward decisions.  

 

Job Description

  • Maintain a register of material risks and compliance obligations and assist with Risk and Control Self-Assessments to ensure a robust control environment.
  • Conduct compliance assessments and provide support with making regulatory breach reports if required.
  • Coordinate, submit and retain evidence to support the Australian Credit Licence annual compliance certificate.
  • Support delivery of change initiatives to ensure compliant by design outcomes and implementation of best practice preventative and detective controls.
  • Assist in the development and embedment of risk management tools and frameworks.
  • Provide support on incident and issue management.
  • Design and deliver operational risk and compliance training to stakeholders.
  • Regularly review and improve risk and compliance management policies and procedures.
  • Continuously improve and mature the risk profile by:
    • Understanding regulatory obligations and applying them across various scenarios.
    • Identifying risks and developing controls within business appetite.
    • Testing the design and effectiveness of the control environment.
    • Developing key risk indicators to monitor and measure risk outcomes.
    • Preparing content and conducting risk and controls workshops with stakeholders.
  • Support ad hoc risk and compliance activities as needed.

 

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years’ experience in risk and compliance management within consumer lending and/or credit assistance provision.
  • Understanding of risks and compliance obligations associated with credit assistance provision, including ASIC RG 78, RG 205, RG 209 and RG 234.
  • Good understanding of privacy and data protection obligations.
  • Experience in control design, development and testing.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence stakeholders of all levels.
  • Degree qualification (preferred).
