Come shape the future of education with us.
At Compass, we're on a mission to transform the school day for everyone - from staff and students to families and administrators. We build smart, seamless technology that empowers schools to focus on what really matters: learning, growing and thriving.
That mission has fuelled our growth into a global scale-up, now supporting 5,000+ schools across three countries, backed by a team of 300+ people. Our all-in-one school management platform is redefining how education communities connect, communicate and operate.
We're now looking for a Sales Development Representative to join our Expansion team in Melbourne and play a key role in driving our next phase of growth.
About the Role & Team
You'll work within our growing Expansion team to drive revenue growth from our existing customer base. Your primary mission will be to convert leads into product outcomes for existing customers - connecting with decision-makers at schools, understanding their challenges and demonstrating how Compass can help them get more from the platform.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives on building relationships, enjoys the energy of outbound sales and wants to make a meaningful impact in education.
The successful candidate will be someone who hits the ground running, taking initiative to deeply understand our product, our customers and the value Compass delivers to schools every day.
What you'll do
Customer Engagement & Conversion
- Engage existing Compass customers through outbound campaigns, identifying needs and articulating the value of our products.
- Actively monitor and achieve individual conversion performance against targets.
- Practice active listening to understand customers' goals and challenges, and deliver high-quality advice and solutions.
- Consistently deliver exceptional customer experiences and identify opportunities for growth.
Sales Expertise & Product Knowledge
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of all Compass modules and effectively communicate their features and benefits.
- Keep up to date on outbound campaign development processes and proactively sharpen your sales techniques.
- Contribute to team success by sharing common customer queries, challenges and key insights.
Team & Operational Excellence
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to build synergies across sales teams and drive customer outcomes.
- Capture activity status accurately and own the end-to-end customer experience.
- Proactively capture and share feedback to enable continuous improvement across campaigns.
Requirements
About You

You will bring:
- 1+ years' experience in a sales or outbound contact centre environment.
- A track record of meeting or exceeding targets in a performance-driven environment.
- Confident communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships at all levels.
- Resilience and a positive mindset when navigating objections and maintaining momentum.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work until 8pm on occasions to support campaign activity.
Highly regarded:
- Experience using a CRM or sales tool (HubSpot preferred, but not essential).
- A tertiary qualification in business, communications or a related field.
- Prior experience in EdTech, SaaS or a high-growth scale-up environment.
