Overview

As the leader of Microsoft's AI Business Solutions business across Australia's Public Sector, you will drive the strategy and execution of growth across government, health, education and public safety customers. Leading an integrated specialist sales organisation, you will help customers realise the value of AI, cloud and business applications to transform services, modernise workforces and improve outcomes. You'll set the long-term business strategy, sponsor large-scale transformation initiatives, influence product and go-to-market direction, and build a high-performing, inclusive culture that develops exceptional talent and future leaders.

What You Bring 

  • Senior enterprise sales leadership across CRM, ERP, contact centre, employee experience, productivity, collaboration, Virtualisation, AI, SaaS and cloud business solutions. 
  • A strong record of delivering sustained growth and customer outcomes in the Australian public sector. 
  • Proven success leading leaders or specialist teams across complementary solution areas and creating shared accountability across organisational boundaries. 
  • Experience shaping strategy, navigating ambiguity and solving complex customer challenges with differentiated, secure and responsible solutions. 
  • Success leading large, multi-party pursuits through distributed Microsoft teams and partner ecosystems. 
  • Executive presence, commercial judgement and the ability to influence customers, partners and internal stakeholders at the highest levels. 
  • Understanding of Australian public-sector procurement, policy, sovereignty, security, privacy and responsible AI considerations. 

Responsibilities

Customer Engagement and Partnership 

  • Champions the priorities of Australian public-sector customers and partners, turning field insight into stronger strategy, integrated sales plays and go-to-market execution. 
  • Builds tailored success plans that connect Business Process and Workforce solutions, accelerate adoption and value realisation, and support enduring public outcomes. 
  • Acts as a trusted executive advisor, connecting Microsoft capabilities and support resources to agency missions, policy objectives and transformation priorities. 
  • Sponsors critical deals, engages partners early and guides executive alignment, solution strategy and commercial decisions. 

People Management 

  • Leads and develops Business Process and Workforce sellers as one high-performing organisation with clear outcomes, role clarity and shared standards. 
  • Models Microsoft’s culture and leadership principles with authenticity, sound judgement and accountability. 
  • Coaches across boundaries and adapts leadership to the situation, ambiguity and individual needs. 
  • Attracts, develops and retains exceptional talent through meaningful career conversations, succession planning and actionable growth plans. 
  • Builds an inclusive culture grounded in respect, empathy, trust, diverse perspectives and thoughtful risk-taking. 

Sales Operations and Pipeline Management 

  • Integrates Business Process and Workforce motions with account teams and solution areas to simplify complexity, remove blockers and improve execution. 
  • Uses automation, AI-powered analytics and forecasting to build capability and sharpen sales decisions. 
  • Drives pipeline health, forecast accuracy, consumption and revenue outcomes, and disciplined resource and investment choices. 
  • Establishes operating rhythms that expose cross-solution dependencies, strengthen stakeholder communication and maintain accountability for commitments. 

Sales Strategy and Execution 

  • Develops and executes a multi-year growth strategy for AI Business Solutions in Australia’s public sector, aligning local priorities with Microsoft’s enterprise ambition. 
  • Creates an integrated go-to-market approach across CRM, ERP, low-code, contact centre, employee experience, productivity, collaboration and AI-powered work. 
  • Leads strategic opportunities and market-making initiatives that create value for customers, partners and Microsoft. 
  • Anticipates policy shifts, procurement dynamics, competitive threats, regulatory requirements and technology trends to shape differentiated sales plays. 
  • Leads secure, responsible AI and cloud transformation while aligning the team to customer success, adoption, innovation and disciplined execution. 
  • Drives cross-solution selling, unified support selling and modern selling, sharing best practice across the wider business. 

Qualifications

Minimum experience

  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise solution, business applications or cloud services sales. 
  • Demonstrated industry experience and executive relationships within the Australian public sector. 
  • Experience leading specialist sellers or multidisciplinary sales teams in a complex matrix organisation. 
  • Demonstrated success delivering growth through complex transformation programs, strategic partnerships and multi-solution pursuits.

Preferred experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, technology, public policy or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. 
  • 5+ years leading high-performing sales or specialist teams in a complex organisation. 
  • Experience across both business-process applications and workforce productivity or employee-experience solutions. 
  • Working knowledge of responsible AI, cybersecurity, privacy, data sovereignty and compliance expectations relevant to Australian government customers.
