THE ROLE 

Our Business Development Representative is an entry level role, responsible for sourcing and qualifying new sales opportunities at the top of the sales pipeline, before transitioning the relationship to the Account Executives for deeper sales conversations. 

The Business Development Representative works closely with the marketing team to act on campaign-driven demand, follow up on inbound leads, and provide feedback on messaging and targeting to optimise future marketing efforts.

Our Business Development Representative is a primary and impactful contributor to Shippit’s long-term business growth and success.

DAY TO DAY

  • Liaise with our Marketing and Sales teams, to understand and communicate the Shippit value proposition to prospective customers effectively.
  • Learn our buyer personas/roles, their challenges and objectives.
  • Generate new leads through outbound campaigns (email, cold calling, Linkedin).
  • Develop and qualify leads from marketing campaigns (inbound leads, events, content).
  • Provide a positive and seamless prospective customer experience, through communication and organisational skills, as you hand off to Account Executives.
  • Attend industry events with a focus on increasing brand awareness, positioning Shippit, and driving leads.
  • Proactively liaise with Sales, Marketing and Shippit leadership to stay up-to-date with new products, features and offerings from Shippit’s product suite.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience in a quota/target carrying sales role, preferably in IT or technology.
  • Exceptional in time management, prioritisation and organisational skills.
  • Self-starting, proactive and team-oriented in identifying opportunities for the business.
  • Adapts quickly to new tools, systems, concepts or environments.
  • Desire to build a sales career in SaaS.
  • Previous experience with using a CRM and Google suite ideal, but not necessary.
  • Previous experience generating and qualifying outbound and inbound leads, but not necessary.
