The Game Changers:

Australian Payments Plus (AP+) is here to shape the future of payments for Australia. We aim to deliver more innovation to Australia’s payments ecosystem, for the collective benefit of Australian businesses, government and consumers.

Our solutions include Australia’s domestic debit network, real-time, data rich payments infrastructure, secure bill payments, digital identity verification, QR payments and experiences and open wallet solutions. It’s a new chapter with more possibilities.

The Purpose:

The Scheme Release / Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supporting the release and deployment of new and updated services for eftpos, BPAY and NPP payment schemes.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone loves to project manage and can translate complexity into smooth processes, keeping people aligned, and making sure nothing falls through the cracks.

You’ll work across multi functions including product, delivery, operations and vendor teams to help plan, track and coordinate releases — ensuring everyone knows what’s happening, when it’s happening and what needs to be done.

If you’re detail-driven, calm under pressure and enjoy being the “glue” that keeps delivery moving — this role is for you.

The core accountabilities of the role will include:

  • Plan and coordinate release activities to ensure timelines are met and everyone knows what needs to be delivered.
  • Work closely with internal teams to confirm what is included in each release and keep progress on track.
  • Maintain clear schedules, documentation and status updates for each release.
  • Prepare and share release communications to keep stakeholders informed.
  •  Coordinate deliverables with external partners to ensure alignment with agreed timelines.
  • Identify and track risks or issues, escalating where needed to avoid delays.
  • Support testing and implementation readiness activities to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Facilitate post-release reviews, capture feedback and build strong stakeholder relationships to support continuous improvement.

You Might Be a Great Fit If You:

  • Have 1–3 years’ experience in project management, delivery support or PMO environments
  • Are incredibly organised (run your life off spreadsheets)
  • Communicate clearly and confidently
  • Take initiative and follow through
  • Are comfortable juggling multiple moving pieces
  • Enjoy working with lots of different stakeholders
  • Love a well-structured plan

Bonus Points For:

  • Exposure to financial services or regulated environments
  • Formal project training or certification (or working towards one)
  • Experience supporting release cycles or structured delivery programs
