School Operations Coordinator

About the Role

The School Operations Coordinator plays a pivotal role in supporting the effective operation of a School within UOW. Working closely with the School Operations Manager, Head of School and central business units, you will provide high-level operational and administrative support across teaching and learning, staffing, facilities, student administration and engagement activities. This is a diverse and rewarding role that combines operational leadership, stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement to support the delivery of the School's strategic and operational objectives.

Key responsibilities:

  • Act as deputy to the School Operations Manager and provide operational leadership during periods of leave.

  • Coordinate and support School operations across areas including staffing, timetabling, facilities, finance and student administration.

  • Monitor and report on course and subject enrolments, teaching activities and operational data to support planning and decision-making.

  • Lead and coordinate onboarding, offboarding, engagement activities, events, communications and cross-functional projects that enhance School performance and stakeholder experience.

About the Team

This role sits within a School professional services team and works in close partnership with academic leaders, professional staff and central University divisions. The team is responsible for delivering high-quality operational support that enables excellence in teaching, research and engagement. Collaboration, service excellence and continuous improvement are at the heart of how we work.

What You'll Bring

  • Tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent experience in business administration, operations management or a related field.

  • Demonstrated experience coordinating operational functions and leading or supervising staff within a complex organisation.

  • Strong organisational, problem-solving and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple competing demands.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.

  • Experience interpreting and applying policies, procedures and compliance requirements to support informed decision-making.

Role Details

  • Continuing, Full-time appointment

  • Level 6/7 - $96,898 - $119,986 plus 17% superannuation. Salary commensurate with skills, experience and capability.

  • Location: Wollongong Campus

  • Valid Australian work rights required. Visa sponsorship is not available.
