  • About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer - Security to join our VIC Projects team based in Scoresby.

This is an exciting opportunity for a technically capable engineer who thrives on delivering integrated security solutions and enjoys working across design, project delivery, commissioning, and customer engagement.

You will play a key role in the successful delivery of Security, Access Control, and CCTV projects, ensuring solutions meet customer requirements, industry regulations, and Johnson Controls' quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, engineer, configure, and commission Security, Access Control, and CCTV systems across a range of projects.

  • Develop technical solutions using both Johnson Controls and third-party security platforms.

  • Conduct software configuration, testing, and commissioning activities to ensure compliance with customer specifications and quality standards.

  • Provide expert technical support and troubleshooting for complex security systems and networked environments.

  • Collaborate closely with customers, project managers, sales teams, and technicians throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Support project execution by monitoring scope, schedules, budgets, and customer satisfaction.

  • Assist with system upgrades, enhancements, and future-proof security solutions.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, technicians, and apprentices.

  • Support engineering and sales teams with technical recommendations, system layouts, and bid proposals.

  • Champion workplace safety and maintain full compliance with Johnson Controls' Safety, Health & Environment Management System (SHEMS).

About You

We're looking for a motivated and customer-focused Security Project Engineer who combines strong technical expertise with a passion for delivering high-quality outcomes.

You Will Bring:

  • 3-5 years' experience in a Project Engineer, Security Engineer, or similar role.

  • Experience designing and delivering Security, Access Control, and CCTV solutions.

  • Strong BIM and CAD design capabilities.

  • Understanding of networked security systems, IT infrastructure, servers, and system integration.

  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.

  • A proactive, safety-first mindset with a commitment to quality delivery.

Highly Regarded:

  • Victorian Security Licence.

  • Experience working on large-scale commercial, healthcare, industrial, education, or critical infrastructure projects.

  • Exposure to integrated building technologies and smart building solutions.
