As the Senior Advisor, Leader Assist, you will partner closely with business leaders and stakeholders to provide advice and hands on coaching across a broad range of people management issues for all departments of the Qantas business. In this role, you’ll provide support to people managers in a range of serious and sensitive matters such as conducting informal coaching conversations, misconduct, performance management, disciplinary procedures, grievance handling and EA interpretation.  

Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Provide high quality HR Generalist advice and coaching, working with the business unit managers to address needs, identifying situational risks/ issues and mitigation options
  • Influence Business Managers in the implementation of recommended solutions
  • Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with customers through the delivery of timely and efficient case management advice

To be successful in this role, you’ll have:

  • Minimum two years of experience working within an HR Department
  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a related discipline
  • Strong knowledge of HR policy, procedures and industrial instruments/ awards
  • Demonstrated experience in people management issues (i.e. performance management)
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all organisational levels and across diverse workstyles
  • Demonstrated discretion, confidentiality and capability to operate confidently amid ambiguity and complexity
