About the role 
 

We’re seeking a Senior Public Affairs Advisor to join our NSW team and play a key role in strengthening how we connect with the communities we serve.

 

Working across multiple operational assets, you’ll help drive best-practice community engagement, manage stakeholder issues, and protect and enhance organisational reputation.

 

You’ll work across a complex and high-profile environment, partnering with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver effective community engagement strategies and outcomes.

You’ll join an innovative team, who are focused on ensuring community concerns are proactively managed while supporting the organisation’s long-term reputation and social licence to operate.

As our Senior Public Affairs Advisor you’ll contribute to lasting and positive changes that shape the future of our cities and communities. It’s meaningful, challenging and exciting work. 

 

Day-to-day, you will: 

  • Lead and manage community and stakeholder engagement activities across NSW assets
  • Respond to and coordinate resolution of community enquiries, complaints, and issues
  • Proactively identify community risks and develop strategies to mitigate reputational impact
  • Develop and deliver engagement and communication programs for local communities and stakeholders
  • Create compelling content and communications materials (e.g. newsletters, presentations, briefings)
  • Support and deliver community and stakeholder events end-to-end
  • Maintain accurate records and provide regular reporting on engagement activities
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Operations, Corporate Affairs, Customer teams) and external stakeholders including councils, contractors, and community

 

This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferrable skills and experiences, including: 

  • Experience in public affairs, communications, or community engagement roles Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
  • Proven ability to manage sensitive issues and community concerns
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • A proactive mindset with sound judgement and high attention to detail.
