As part of continued growth of our Air Quality team, ERM has a position available for an experienced Senior Consultant to join our national team.

ERM is a global environmental consultancy with one of the largest group of air quality specialists in Australia. We have a client base comprising major Australian and international companies, as well as federal and state government departments. Our projects (in Australia and overseas) include impact assessment and mitigation, air quality monitoring, air quality assessment, dispersion modelling, odour and dust assessment, emissions inventory development, carbon management, applied meteorology, and regulatory reporting.

Role Responsibilities: 

  • Deliver emission estimation inventories, odour and air quality modelling assessments;

  • Write technical environmental reports, effective proposals, and tenders;

  • Plan projects with a range of complexity and scale;

  • Achieve client’s expectations for scope, budget, schedule, and quality;

  • Lead client-focused air permitting and compliance strategies for industrial facilities, addressing complex regulatory and technical issues while maintaining strong client relationships and supporting operational flexibility;

  • Develop and expand client relationships that support repeat business, identifying and developing new opportunities;

  • Capitalize on existing client relationships to expand ERM’s profile and market share in the regional air quality market (through a combination of excellence in technical delivery and business development);

  • Mentor team members in the proper planning and execution of air quality projects, and conduct independent technical reviews of deliverable work products;

  • Support the general growth and development of ERM’s global air quality services;

  • Collaborate with other ERM global practitioners to execute air quality projects.

Requirements:

  • BS/MS in engineering (chemical, mechanical, environmental), environmental science, or related degree.

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in air quality/compliance consulting.

  • Well established reputation and recognized technical expertise by the marketplace.

  • Proven experience completing emission inventories and air quality modelling assessments.

  • Technical expertise such as WRF modelling, RStudio programming is desirable.

  • Proven experience in business development for large air quality/regulatory compliance contracts, with the ability to contribute to ERM’s annual sales goals.

  • Excellent communication (written/verbal), strategic thinking, negotiation, presentation, and “people” skills.

  • Positive outlook, collaborative, and driven by the success of ERM as a global company.

  • Authorisation to work in Australia.
