Your New Role
Reporting to the Principal, AML/CTF & Fraud, the Senior Analyst is a key member of AustralianSuper’s Group Risk team.
You will help identify and translate regulatory obligations into practical policies, procedures and controls. Drawing on your analytical and investigative capabilities, you will undertake monitoring, intelligence and transaction analysis to identify suspicious matters, emerging risks and opportunities to strengthen compliance.
Key duties include but not limited to;
Identify obligations under the AML/CTF Act, AML/CTF Rules and associated guidance, and translate them into actionable policies and procedures.
Support the development of AML/CTF and fraud frameworks, programs, policies and controls.
Conduct oversight and monitoring activities, including reviewing transaction monitoring reports and customer alert escalations.
Undertake intelligence and threat analysis, digital and forensic examinations, account and transaction analysis.
Identify suspicious matters and lodge Suspicious Matter Reports with AUSTRAC.
Analyse member fraud trends to identify control gaps and systemic weaknesses in processes and procedures.
Assess money laundering, terrorism financing and fraud risks arising from changes to products, services, delivery channels and business operations.
Prepare compliance reports and supporting documentation for senior management, Directors and regulatory requirements.

What You’ll Need
Hold an accreditation in Risk Management from a recognised body like Risk Management Institute of Australasia (RMIA) or Governance Institute of Australia (GIA), or be willing to obtain one after joining AustralianSuper.
Demonstrated ability to understand and translate external regulatory requirements to shape business outcomes.
Ideally have experience with superannuation.
A clear understanding of the risks associated with non-compliance with the AML/CTF Act and AML/CTF Rules.
Well-developed analytical and investigative skills, with high attention to detail.
Strong knowledge of financial services administration practices.
The ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a team environment.
Effective communication, engagement and stakeholder management skills.
Experience in financial crime management, with knowledge of fraud, money laundering and terrorism financing methods.
Qualifications through the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists or as a Certified Fraud Examiner will be highly regarded.
Tertiary qualifications in business, management, commerce, finance, accounting, economics or a related field are desirable.
The first two requirements retain the Risk Specialist template wording; the remaining criteria reflect the essential and desired position requirements.
