Your Team

Financial Markets Group is responsible for implementing the Reserve Bank's operations in domestic and foreign exchange markets, monitoring and analysing developments in financial markets and co-ordinating the Reserve Bank's relationship with international institutions. Domestic Markets Department is responsible for the Reserve Bank's operations in the domestic money and bond markets. The Department also analyses developments in domestic financial markets, including the cost and availability of finance through financial intermediaries and capital markets, and provides regular advice to the Governors and the Board on these issues.

The role
Are you a skilled hands-on Market Data Senior Analyst with a passion for implementing technical solutions and ensuring high quality support?  Do you have a strong technical mindset and ability to build relationships with others to deliver positive outcomes?  This opportunity will enable you to work directly with stakeholders at all levels to execute on the Bank's strategic agenda and solve complex market data problems.

This is a fast paced, busy and varied role where you will work cohesively in the strategic delivery, management, and support of market data systems. You will build relationships with vendors, work autonomously to deliver solutions, and ensure highly resilient systems. You will be curious, analytical, and passionate about problem solving. Your motivation and drive are important qualities, alongside your understanding of market data or the financial markets space.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage Technical Projects: Hands on delivery of technical projects related to market data and dealing room infrastructure, systems, and services

  • Advanced Support Functions: Provide export support related to the administration, support and maintenance of the Bank's market data and dealing room systems.

  • Operational Efficiency: Review business operations and technology solutions for operational efficiency, monitor and research developments in systems, identify improvement opportunities.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Build strong relationships and communicate clearly, collaborating with business stakeholders, technologists, and vendors to drive the delivery of outcomes on time and budget.

  • Risk Management: Identify and respond to issues, risks, and opportunities, maintaining controls and ensuring robust processes are operationalised.

Your Background

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in computer science, technology or related discipline.

  • Previous experience in a similar role within the financial services industry, with a strong focus on market data products, exchanges and data

  • Strong knowledge of financial markets, data products and data sources, including familiarity with vendors.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to build productive relationships with stakeholders and vendors.

  • A critical thinker, with a passion for problem solving and driving improvements associated to the use of market data.

  • A strong risk mindset with an ability to identify, articulate and manage risks in line with the Bank's risk tolerance.
