The role

Financial Markets Business Operations delivers operational and system administration support for Financial Markets business systems, serving internal and external clients, including overseas representative offices. The team also operates as the external-facing Securitisation Support Centre (SSC).

Team members support a range of Financial Markets Group solutions, including Findur, the Electronic Auction Platform, Securitisation, Currency Benchmark, and Core Forecasting System.

This role offers broad exposure across the Bank, including Domestic Markets, International Department, Risk Management, Payments Settlements and IT, with opportunities to contribute to team initiatives, build expertise and support continuous improvement.

Requirements and flexibility

The Team provides active support from 7:30am to 6pm through a rotating morning / middle / afternoon shift pattern, rotating weekend work and on-call requirements outside of those hours (approximately one week every month).

Importantly, the Team is given the freedom to structure support creatively and work around the unique requirements of each team member.

The team’s objectives

  • Deliver effective operational, administrative, first and second level customer support for business systems working closely with IT to ensure operational requirements are met

  • Manage relationships with external vendors, ensuring key services are delivered as per the relevant agreements

  • Provide business operations expertise and guidance to external and internal customers in relation to business processes

  • Maintain a consultative role with the overseas representative offices and work closely with IT to ensure that all operational requirements are met

  • Conduct regular reviews of business operations to ensure operational controls are efficient and remain relevant

  • Monitor systems and liaise with stakeholders to facilitate early detection and resolution of issues, ensuring impact to business processes is minimal

  • Plan, co-ordinate, test and verify system changes to ensure operational stability of critical systems

  • Maintain suitable contingency arrangements for systems, operations, customers and stakeholders

  • Assist with the efficient delivery of services and ensure that activities comply with industry regulations

  • Drive improvements across a variety of workstreams for FM Business Operations (FM BO), FM Business Support Services (FM BSS), & Financial Markets Group (FMG)
