Senior Associate/Special Counsel, Workplace Relations & Safety
An established national law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Associate or Special Counsel to join its highly regarded Workplace Relations, Safety & Investigations practice in Sydney.
This is an opportunity to become part of a growing team recognised for providing strategic, commercially focused advice to employers across both the public and private sectors. The practice advises a diverse client base ranging from government agencies and statutory authorities to major corporate organisations, supporting them through complex workplace issues while building long-term trusted relationships.
The role offers exposure to a broad mix of advisory and contentious matters, allowing you to work closely with sophisticated clients while enjoying genuine autonomy, strong partner access and clear opportunities for career progression.
Working alongside respected practitioners in the workplace relations space, you will:
- Advise employers on a broad range of workplace relations and employment law matters.
- Manage complex workplace disputes, litigation and regulatory investigations.
- Provide strategic advice across workplace health and safety, governance and risk.
- Conduct and advise on sensitive workplace investigations.
- Represent clients in commissions, courts and other tribunals.
- Build strong client relationships and become a trusted adviser to key stakeholders.
- Mentor junior lawyers and play an active role in the continued growth of the practice.
To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring:
- Strong experience across both contentious and advisory employment law matters.
- Demonstrated expertise in workplace health and safety and/or workplace investigations.
- The confidence to manage matters with a high degree of autonomy.
- Excellent technical ability combined with commercially focused advice.
- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
- A collaborative leadership style with a genuine interest in mentoring junior lawyers and contributing to team development.
