The opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join our growing Commercial Underwriting team. Reporting to the Head of Portfolio Enablement, you will work across multiple functions and provide the business with technical expertise and data insights to help us improve performance, expand our portfolios and achieve our strategic initiatives. The commercial products comprise of Motor, Liability, Personal Injury/Accident and more.

Your new role

This technical role will see you use your skills to extract data from systems, analyse the portfolio products and report on findings to senior stakeholders. Additional key responsibilities will include:

  • Engage with key stakeholders across the business and act as a trusted advisor to provide insights and ideas for improvement 
  • Deliver timely and accurate data through models, reports, analysing and communicating results, responding to complex business issues and providing best practice solutions to assist with company direction and decision-making 
  • Analyse data extracted from multiple systems in comparison to prior months or years and our competitors 
  • Support team members to derive trends, conclusions and recommendations based on data and analysis 
  • Formulate strategy for the commercial products – Motor, Liability, Personal injury, Workers Compensation and Property 

About you

To be successful in this role you will have proven experience as a Business Analyst or Senior Business Analyst, with a background in Insurance, Consulting, Banking or Financial Services. You will also have:

  • Ability to deliver insights from data
  • General insurance knowledge will be an advantage
  • Python, SQL, Power BI and Data warehouse knowledge
  • Tertiary degree in related discipline
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to confidently deal with Senior Leaders
