Do work that makes a difference

The Reserve Bank of Australia is undertaking a Core Modernisation program which involves a major upgrade of core technology infrastructure. We have a great opportunity for multiple senior business analysts to join the team and make a key contribution to the business analysis activities of the Payments Migration workstream. This workstream centres on critical payments systems for Australia including the Reserve Bank Information and Transfer System (RITS), the Fast Settlement Service (FSS) and Swift systems used for interbank payments. Safe, secure and reliable settlement systems are integral to the smooth functioning of the Australian economy, and projects relating to these systems are an important aspect of the RBA’s work.

About the role

The type of work you will do will include:

  • Translate complex business, strategic, and technical information for diverse audiences.
  • Collaborate with Payments Migration workstream stakeholders to capture and document requirements effectively.
  • Act as a liaison between business units, IT, and infrastructure teams to align solutions with business goals.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, security, and technology assurance frameworks.
  • Assess risks and implement necessary controls in collaboration with compliance teams.
  • Strong understanding of on-prem infrastructure, virtual machines, networking, and enterprise IT environments.

About You

  • Proven experience in IT infrastructure and network projects, with expertise in data centre migrations.
  • Advanced proficiency in business analysis tools, methods, and communication techniques for capturing, validating, and documenting requirements.
  • Skilled in creating clear and impactful presentations for workshops, training, and senior management.
  • Quick learner, able to adapt to complex and unfamiliar environments.
  • Strong experience in Requirements Management, able to independently manage BA activities and deliverables.
  • Hands-on experience with solution evaluation, analysis, documentation, and recommendations.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical issues to both business and technical audiences.
  • Leadership and mentoring experience within the BA community to support the growth of BA practices.
