The Reserve Bank of Australia is hiring for a Senior Cloud Engineer to join our Platform Engineering Team on a permanent basis. The Senior Cloud Engineer will provide specialised platform engineering and development skills for the implementation of infrastructure and automation solutions to meet the business requirements for the Bank and to ensure that these are aligned with the Bank's enterprise architecture and IT standards.

• Work as part of the Platform Engineering team to support and improve Bank platforms through problem resolution, debugging, and system enhancements.

• Ensure that the Platform Engineering development standards are maintained and participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and best practice.

• Maintain a working knowledge of the IT Infrastructure platforms, tools, software packages used, and ensure all system documentation complies with relevant IT Standards.

• Perform analysis and design of new platform solutions, undertake scripting / programming tasks, and ensure that solutions are adequately tested.

• Undertake relevant research including the evaluation of new software, tools, and techniques ensuring they meet the Bank's enterprise architecture and standards.

• Work collaboratively with stakeholders to refine business and IT requirements and promote the implementation and adoption of the automation technologies.

• Champion the development, design, and delivery of software defined infrastructure initiatives to improve IT Infrastructure operational efficiency, security, and stability.

• Experience in developing across a range of relevant platforms using relevant general purpose programming or scripting languages.

• Experience of unit, integration and performance testing frameworks.

• Strong experience of the Infrastructure and Application DevOps toolchains including Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery processes and tools.

• Experience of programming or scripting security principles and best practices.

• Knowledge of platform risks and compliance requirements.

• Experience and understanding of platform industry standards, guidelines, and best practices.

• Demonstrated experience and development of the Bank infrastructure / cloud design patterns, architecture, and platform design.

• Demonstrated experience of emerging technologies.
