A Day in the Life

We are seeking a commercially astute and analytically driven Senior Commercial Manager, Enterprise Accounts ANZ for a 12-month contract to lead strategic commercial planning, customer financial engagement, and performance reporting across key accounts and buying groups in Australia.


Enterprise Accounts enables the individual Medtronic Portfolio Operating Units to achieve their goals by applying commercial excellence with our public and private buying influences. We secure sustainable contracts for profitable revenue and share growth in the private and public sector. Our team pursues new business opportunities and executes a customer value proposition with C-Suite & Executive partners to drive mutual benefit and establish mechanisms for patients access to Medtronic technologies. By forging long-term partnerships at the C-Suite level and with national Buying Groups, we create opportunities which drive product penetration and expand Medtronic’s business.


Reporting to the Senior Director – Enterprise Accounts for Australia and New Zealand region, this parental leave contract (12 months) based in Sydney, will see you being a strategic business partner, finding solutions to complex problems in customer facing role, building and executing strategic business plans and delivering on targets by supporting your team to excel.


Primary Responsibilities


  • Lead the development of strategy for the Enterprise Accounts Commercial Overlay in partnership with Enterprise Accounts Director. You will be responsible for all strategic business planning for the team for Australia.
  • Own assigned customer relationships in key strategic accounts. Your expertise in strategy
  • development and financial value development means that you are a key additional resource which the Enterprise Accounts team can utilize with their C-Suite customers, CEOs and in particular CFOs.
  • You will lead the analytics relationship with the customer across a selection of other Corporate Buying Groups. 
  • Support Strategic and Corporate Account Managers to generate incremental, profitable revenue from a portfolio of Key Accounts by architecting financial deals and proposals which can be endorsed by the Operating Unit leaders and presented to C-Suite customers.
  • Maximise business results through leadership of analytics related to customer agreements, contracted pricing offers and investments

  • Support the achievement of Australia revenue targets, by building necessary business models to generate required business revenue
  • Perform scenario planning and demonstrate impacts of strategies / decisions on the business to facilitate prioritization and decision making.
  • Drive opportunities for continuous improvement and development of management reporting and related systems and processes
  • Monthly, quarterly and annual contracted revenue performance financial modelling and reporting, including forecasting contracted customer business potential
  • Identify opportunities for improved customer contracting & pricing
  • Manage the Enterprise Accounts Analyst team (3 members) activities related to
  • internal and external performance reporting, offer modelling, analytics and proposal preparation
  • Support Account Manager offer presentation, business case development and price
  • negotiation/cost analysis, as required
  • Build and support the Enterprise Accounts team to Implement commercial KPIs in contract
  • negotiations
  • Lead the gathering and analysis of market intelligence data from Enterprise Accounts & Buying
  • Groups which can support business planning /reporting. This includes the build of market models,
  • PowerBI and share reporting to the broader business. 
  • Grow collaborative and synergistic relationships across the ANZ business
  • Conduct presentations to existing and potential customers in support of the Strategic Sales team
  • Report to the Medtronic Executive Leadership team on business performance as required

Required Qualifications


  • Tertiary Qualifications in Business, Economics or Finance/Accounting essential (Bachelor’s Degree as a minimum)
  • Minimum of 5 years business leadership experience in a relevant sector
  • Demonstrated skills and competencies to operate in a finance and analytics leadership role.
  • Advanced Excel and Power Point skills and excellent computer literacy including a high level of knowledge of the MS Office suite of software.
  • Willingness to do some out of office hour work and occasionally travel interstate.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Post-Graduate qualifications viewed favourably
  • Healthcare industry experience is valuable
