Senior Compliance Officer
Location : Sydney / Melbourne / Brisbane / Wollongong

The role involves supporting clients in governance and compliance tasks, leading client services, managing regulatory changes, and fostering relationships to promote revenue growth. Reporting will be dual, to both the Head of Superannuation Trustee Services and the Head of Compliance (Superannuation).

Job Responsibilities:

  • Advising and assisting clients at all levels of their organisations with compliance matters.

  • Providing secretariat support for superannuation and industry clients, ensuring adherence to prudential standards, legislation, and licensing requirements.

  • Managing and executing action items from client meetings.

  • Coordinating and preparing for board and secretariat meetings as directed by the Head of Superannuation Trustee Services

  • Proactively identifying, monitoring, and helping clients and service providers implement changes prompted by legislative or regulatory updates, or to enhance compliance processes.

  • Supporting the Head of Superannuation Trustee Services with insurance claims and regulatory engagements on behalf of clients.

  • Assisting the Head of Compliance (Superannuation) in implementing compliance plans and fulfilling obligations under relevant acts such as the SIS Act, Corporations Act, AML/CTF Act, Privacy Act, and other financial services regulations.

  • Reviewing client documentation (both disclosure and non-disclosure), seeking opportunities to standardise these documents across organisations.

  • Developing procedures to ensure clients meet all lodgement requirements under applicable statutory, regulatory, and licensing rules.

  • Additional duties may be undertaken as needed.

Skills required:

  • Preferred formal qualifications or degree in Business, Finance, Law, or a related field.

  • Completion and maintenance of RG146 General Advice is Superannuation is essential.

  • Over five years' experience in governance or compliance roles within Financial Services, including interactions with regulators.

  • Strong working knowledge of insurance claims is desirable.

  • In-depth understanding of superannuation and financial services law.

  • Skilled at interpreting legislative and regulatory requirements analytically, developing practical, commercial solutions for clients.

  • Committed to delivering high-quality service that meets client needs and those of other third-party providers.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills for building and maintaining key stakeholder relationships.
