Team: Product Design / Design org

Reporting to: Lead Content Designer (Player–Coach)

About Multiplier

Multiplier is building the world’s leading Global Human Platform — enabling companies to hire, onboard, manage, and pay talent across 150+ countries without friction.

From global payroll and compliance to benefits and contractor management, our platform simplifies complex international employment infrastructure so companies can scale without borders.

As we expand our product surface and deepen our capabilities, design plays a critical role in shaping experiences that are clear, trusted, and scalable across markets.

We are evolving from a centralised studio model into embedded design expertise within product tribes. This shift creates deeper ownership, stronger product intimacy, and higher accountability for outcomes. This is where you come in.

Role Purpose

As a Senior Content Designer, you will shape language as part of the product system — not as an afterthought.

You will work embedded within a tribe (e.g., Core Payroll, Experience, FinX, Foundations, or Benefits) to define how flows work through language, structure, and information hierarchy.

You understand the difference between explaining how something works and defining how it works.

This role is about clarity, influence, and raising the content craft bar inside a scaling organisation.

What You’ll Do1. Design Language Within Product Flows
  • Craft microcopy, labels, messaging, and structural content within complex workflows.

  • Translate compliance-heavy or financial concepts into clear, human language.

  • Collaborate closely with Product Designers to ensure language and interaction work as one system.

  • Contribute to information architecture decisions.

You design language as part of the interaction model.

2. Cocreate Problems Early
  • Partner with Product, Product Design and Engineering during discovery.

  • Clarify terminology and naming conventions at the problem-definition stage.

  • Surface ambiguities in flows through language testing and iteration.

  • Help define success criteria tied to comprehension and task completion.

You influence how features are structured — not just how they’re worded.

3. Align with Voice and Tone Standards
  • Apply and evolve Multiplier’s voice and tone guidelines.

  • Ensure tonal consistency across onboarding, payroll, compliance alerts, and financial workflows.

  • Maintain clarity across markets and cultural contexts.

  • Raise inconsistencies that create friction or mistrust.

You help the product feel coherent and confident.

4. Collaborate Across Functions
  • Work deeply with UXR to validate comprehension and clarity.

  • Partner with Engineering to ensure scalable, reusable content patterns.

  • Contribute actively in critique sessions.

  • Guide Product Designers in language craft where appropriate.

You strengthen collaboration, not siloed ownership.

5. Distinguish Content Design from Tech Writing
  • Ensure in-product content is purpose-built for user decision-making.

  • Support alignment between documentation and product language — but do not conflate the two.

  • Advocate for experience-first clarity over documentation-first explanations.

  • Help teams understand when language shapes the system itself.

You move teams from “explaining features” to designing them clearly.

What Success Looks Like

You are successful in this role if:

  • Users complete complex payroll or compliance workflows with minimal confusion.

  • Terminology is consistent across your tribe’s surface area.

  • Error messages guide resolution instead of creating anxiety.

  • Product designers proactively involve content early.

  • Legal and financial concepts feel understandable, not intimidating.

  • Your work reduces support tickets tied to clarity issues.

Your impact is visible in reduced friction and increased trust.

Scope & Ownership
  • Own content strategy for defined initiatives within your tribe.

  • Lead medium-to-large content-heavy projects independently.

  • Contribute to naming systems and pattern consistency.

  • Mentor mid-level content designers informally.

  • Participate in cross-tribe content discussions.

You operate with autonomy while aligning to shared standards.

What We Value
  • Clarity over cleverness.

  • Systems thinking applied to language.

  • Precision in complex domains.

  • Respectful, constructive challenge.

  • Global empathy in tone and structure.

We believe words are infrastructure — especially in global employment technology.

Who You Are
  • 5–8+ years of experience in content design or UX writing.

  • Strong understanding of interaction design and product systems.

  • Comfortable navigating compliance, finance, or operational complexity.

  • Confident communicator with structured thinking.

  • Curious about how language shapes behaviour and trust.

  • Motivated to deepen influence over time.
