About the Team
The Brand Narrative team's mission develop and reinforce narratives that capture what Atlassian is doing as a business and make it exciting to the market. We tell these narratives in creative ways that engage both internal and external audiences and amplify our brand's impact.
Role Overview
As Senior Content Marketing Manager, you will work closely with the Head of Brand Narrative and wider Atlassian leaders to distill complex business priorities and leadership perspectives into narratives that excite the market. You'll leverage your experience and exceptional writing skills to create content that not only informs but inspires action and engagement across audiences.
Key Responsibilities
  • Partner directly with the Head of Brand Narrative, the office of the CEO, and key cross-functional stakeholders to develop narratives that clearly articulate Atlassian's business direction, market positioning, and leadership perspective on topics including AI and teamwork.
  • Translate leadership's vision and company strategy into accessible, market-ready stories that generate excitement and understanding among media, customers, and industry influencers.
  • Leverage agency-side best practices to craft, package, and distribute high-impact content that breaks through the noise and positions Atlassian as a thought leader.
  • Lead the creation of engaging, shareable top-of-funnel content and ensure editorial consistency, scalability, and alignment with Atlassian's brand voice across all content.
  • Collaborate with design and marketing teams to create assets and execute promotional plans that elevate the impact of our narratives.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and incorporate relevant insights into narrative strategies, ensuring Atlassian's voice remains timely and authoritative.
  • Package and distribute content across multiple channels-including newsletters, video, and social-to maximize reach and engagement.
  • Drive creative brainstorming and sparring sessions to refine narratives and ensure they reflect leadership's perspective and business priorities.
  • Manage editorial operations, using tools like JIRA for project tracking and workflow management.
  • Track and report on content performance, using analytics to refine strategy and demonstrate business impact.

Qualifications
  • 7+ years in content strategy, content marketing, or communications, ideally with agency-side experience and a focus on tech/SaaS.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional editorial projects and manage complex editorial calendars.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills; able to translate complex business topics and executive perspectives into engaging, actionable content.
  • Experience with content repurposing and multi-channel distribution (social, email, video).
  • Data-driven mindset; comfortable using analytics to inform editorial decisions.
  • Collaborative, systems thinker who thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in narrative development, executive communications, or similar roles.
  • Strong creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience targeting business audiences and understanding organizational dynamics.
  • Demonstrated ability to stay informed about industry and market trends.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to receive and act on constructive feedback.
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field is preferred.7+ years in content strategy, editorial, or brand journalism, ideally in tech/SaaS.
