A Day in the LifeTo provide a high level of support to the Medtronic business by ensuring minimized risk through the review of all commercial supply contracts. Identify keys areas of risk and non-compliance within customer supply contracts and distribute to business and support functions for assessment and approval.
Provide contractual and commercial guidance and advice under the support of the Legal team to ensure business units and functional areas are making informed decisions prior to approving/declining contractual clauses. Influence & negotiate with customers to progress contract development ensuring business compliance & commercial benefits are maintained.
Lead a team of two Contracts Specialists and manage contracts across the ANZ for all ongoing contract management activities
Lead and manage all aspects of ongoing contract maintenance of regions across ANZ. This includes but is not limited to preparation, co-ordination and review of all contract and customer agreements, extensions, variations and review meetings.

Support Medtronic business by minimizing risks through the review of all commercial supply contracts. Identify key areas of risk and non-compliance within customer supply contracts and distribute to business and support functions for assessment and approval.

Lead a team of two Contracts Specialists and manage contracts across the ANZ for all ongoing contract management activities.

Provide contractual and commercial guidance and advice under the support from the Legal team to ensure business units and functional areas are making informed decisions prior to approving/declining contractual clauses. Influence & negotiate with customers to progress contract development ensuring business compliance & commercial benefits are maintained.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

Contract Review

  • Ensure contract review, approval and execution, in accordance with company guidelines and authorization levels.

  • Provide drafting guidance to the business around proposed departures to clauses.

  • Maintain & provide detail to the business around any previously accepted customer clauses.

  • Provide pro-active support to Sales and Marketing by providing guidance and advice on contractual trends in place by our customers.

  • Develop and provide recommended solutions to complex business issues.

  • Lead, coach and support your team of Contract Specialists in ensuring compliance across all aspects of contract management.

  • Prepare and participate in customer account reviews and internal meetings.

  • Work with other functions on the development of Medtronic contract templates.

Contract Management

  • Prioritize, allocate and coordinate the overall workload with 2 Contract Specialists and offshore contractors, ensuring quality deliverables within the required timelines.

  • Provide support or assistance as required by Contract Specialists in reference to all aspects of ongoing contract maintenance. This includes, but is not limited to preparation, co-ordination and review of all contract and customer agreements, extensions, variations and review meetings.

  • Develop and maintain a continuous communication channel with Sales, Marketing, and customer procurement departments in order to proactively position the contract management function to meet future business needs.

  • Provide dedicated contract management support for assigned territories across ANZ.

Other

  • Participate in projects as required, to improve systems and processes for contract review and maintenance.

  • Continuous education on changing market conditions and customer requirements.

  • Observe health & safety policies & procedures and take all reasonable care that actions or omissions do not impact on the health & safety of others.

  • Work within and actively promote the Medtronic mission, corporate strategies, policies, procedures and Business Conduct Standards.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Knowledge (both theoretical and practical) of public procurement and administrative law.

  • Knowledge of tendering requirements (both theoretical and practical) in the healthcare system.

  • Tertiary qualifications in law or business related discipline.

  • Team management experience.

  • Exposure to Project Management.

  • Proven relevant experience and expertise in a similar role

  • Highly effective interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong working relationships

  • Ability to prioritize work under time pressure

  • Effective organisational and time management skills

  • Ability to multi task and navigate complexity

  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills with an intermediate level of MS Excel

  • Proven problem solving and decision-making skills

  • Strong commercial acumen
