Job Description

  • Full-time, 12-month Fixed-Term position at HEW Level 8.
  • Bankstown City Campus
  • Salary: $120,754 – $134,051 per annum, plus 17% Super and Leave Loading.

Coordinate industry partnerships, improve partnering models and translate university capability into industry-valued solutions.

The Opportunity
You will coordinate industry partnering initiatives that support applied research, innovation programs, workforce development and commercial engagement across the Innovation Portfolio. You will act as a key interface between industry partners and the University, helping to identify opportunities, scope requirements and coordinate the resources needed to progress partnerships from initial enquiry through to delivery.
 

You will support the transformation of industry engagement practices by contributing to the design, implementation and continuous improvement of partnering frameworks, tools, workflows and governance arrangements. Working across academic and professional teams, you will help establish a structured, responsive and scalable approach to industry partnering that reflects the University’s strategic priorities and the needs of Western Sydney.
 

You will coordinate cross-functional delivery involving research support, commercialisation, legal, finance and operational teams. You will also support pilots, demonstrations, innovation challenges, precinct-based activities and strategic partnerships, while monitoring partnering activity and providing practical insights and recommendations to senior staff.

  • Deliver coordinated industry partnering initiatives that progress from enquiry through to implementation.
  • Improve partnering frameworks, workflows and governance arrangements through practical, evidence-informed changes.
  • Connect industry requirements with relevant academic, research, commercial and operational capability.
  • Support timely delivery of pilots, demonstrations, innovation challenges and strategic partnerships.
  • Produce clear reporting and insights that strengthen planning, decision-making and continuous improvement.

About You

  • A tertiary qualification in Business, Innovation, Engineering, Science, Social Sciences or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and training.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting industry partnerships, innovation programs, applied research, commercial engagement or external collaboration in a complex organisation.
  • Proven capability coordinating initiatives involving industry partners, academic staff and professional teams.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and stakeholder expectations.
  • Well-developed communication and influencing skills, including the ability to engage credibly with industry partners and provide clear advice to senior staff.
