About the team:
Implement technical solution, develop and execute technology requirements aligning to the Enterprise Architecture plans and practises meeting the current and future needs of the business within Markets technology division supporting Market Announcement and Reference data systems.
This is a cross-functional platform team responsible for support and enhancement of ASX Market Announcement Platform and Reference data management system.
What you will be doing:
Assess and map business requirements to technical solutions creating the stepping stone for the build work.
Adhere to software development life cycle best practices performing detailed analysis, technical design, implementing complex code changes, unit testing the changes, creating release artefacts and maintaining the applications post-production deployment.
Uphold solution integrity by evaluating options for technical implementation, engage with Architecture, Engineering, Security, Infrastructure and Product teams within ASX without compromising the integrity, performance, scalability or reliability of the system.
Endorse new technologies, frameworks, and tools to improve development efficiency. Establish and maintain technical standards, guidelines and best practices across the engineering phases.
Assist in planning and implementation of software release through various environments. Ensure Change Control process is closely adhered to, including appropriate risk assessments & mitigation actions, communications to the relevant business, technology stakeholders.
Understand and analyse the interdependencies within complex systems, design and troubleshoot effectively anticipating how changes in one part of the system might impact other dependencies.
Be part of a cross-functional team actively interacting with the members of the team contributing to delivering to end-to-end solutions and thus adding value to stakeholders.
Communicate effectively, participate in project and BAU meetings, scrums, contribute effectively to the team deliverables ensuring efforts are aligned toward achieving team goals.
What you will bring:
Must have
10+ years of engineering experience with Java, spring boot, bash, python, RDBMS, Enterprise Messaging, Java and Jboss EAP
Exposure to AWS Analytics (Athena, Data zone, Glue)
Event management, alerting and monitoring (ELK, Grafana) tools experience.
Familiarity in integration technologies including API, Realtime messaging and streaming architectures like Kafka.
Understanding of cloud infrastructure concepts, virtualization, role-based access, identity and access management framework, load balancers, firewalls and networking concepts.
Knowledge of application design principles for micro services, containerisation, API integration
Experience with DevOps and Continuous Integration tools (GITLAB, Nexus, SonarQube)
Analytical and problem-solving skill and curiosity to tackle any complex or new problem
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and switch between concurrent work streams
Nice to have:
Experience working in Capital Markets Industry with a solid understanding of product and transaction lifecycles.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work with internal and external stakeholders.
Lateral thinker – bring forward ideas that will automate repeatable tasks to reduce work effort and ensure quality deliverables
