About the role

We are looking for a Senior Finance Business Partner - Margin & Marketing to join our Finance team in Sydney.

Finance at Stake plays a central role in helping the business make smarter, faster and more informed decisions. As we continue to grow across investing, super, cash products and rewards, understanding the economics that underpin customer growth has never been more important. This role sits at the heart of that challenge, partnering closely with Marketing, Product and Commercial leaders to help Stake allocate capital effectively and maximise long-term value creation.

You'll bring a commercial lens to some of the company's most important decisions. From customer acquisition and channel performance through to product economics, resource allocation and strategic investment, you'll help teams understand what drives value, where opportunities exist and how to deploy resources for maximum impact.

This is a highly visible role with significant influence across the business. You'll combine financial rigour, analytical thinking and strong commercial judgement to build frameworks, shape decisions and help establish the financial foundations that support Stake's next phase of growth. We work hybrid spending 3 days in our beautiful, dog-friendly Sydney office.

What success looks like

Within your first two years, you'll have:

  • Built trusted partnerships across Marketing, Product and Commercial teams, becoming a key contributor to strategic and investment decisions
  • Established clear frameworks for CAC, LTV, attribution and channel economics that improve the quality and speed of decision-making
  • Helped the business better understand the economics of Trade, Super, Save and Rewards, creating greater visibility into growth drivers and margin performance
  • Developed forecasting and scenario planning capabilities that improve resource allocation and investment outcomes
  • Introduced prioritisation frameworks that help leaders evaluate trade-offs, allocate capital effectively and focus on the highest-value opportunities
  • Built reliable reporting and performance measurement systems that serve as a trusted source of truth across the business
  • Improved financial literacy across teams by translating complex concepts into simple, actionable insights that influence behaviour and outcomes
  • Played a meaningful role in helping Stake scale profitably through stronger commercial discipline, clearer decision-making and deeper financial insight
You'll thrive here if…
  • You have experience partnering closely with growth, marketing, product or commercial teams within a fast-moving business
  • You combine strong financial modelling skills with commercial judgement and enjoy solving complex business problems
  • You're highly analytical and comfortable working across customer, operational and financial data to uncover insights
  • You can communicate complex ideas simply and influence decisions across a broad range of stakeholders, including senior leadership
  • You enjoy building frameworks, improving processes and creating clarity in ambiguous environments
  • You're curious, pragmatic and motivated by helping teams make better decisions that create long-term value
Bonus if you've ever
  • Built CAC, LTV, attribution or unit economics frameworks within a fintech, marketplace or high-growth technology business
  • Partnered with marketing teams to optimise channel investment and growth performance
  • Worked across multiple products or business lines with distinct economic drivers
  • Built forecasting, planning or performance reporting systems that became widely adopted across an organisation
  • Used SQL, Hex or similar analytical tools to work directly with large and complex datasets
