The Senior Finance Systems Accountant (JD Edwards) is the Finance Subject Matter Expert (SME) and business owner for the governance, support, optimisation and ongoing evolution of the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Finance platform. This role plays a critical part in ensuring finance systems remain secure, compliant and aligned to business needs while supporting operational excellence across the organisation. Working closely with Finance, Technology, Risk, Audit and external partners, the position drives system enhancements, governance initiatives and process improvements that strengthen controls, improve efficiency and deliver sustainable business value.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary SME for JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Finance, providing expert support and guidance to Finance stakeholders across the business.
Lead the governance of finance systems, including master data management, security controls, user access reviews, segregation of duties and audit compliance activities.
Partner with Finance, Technology and external vendors to deliver system enhancements, issue resolution and continuous improvement initiatives.
Support finance transformation programs by designing and implementing scalable solutions that align with business objectives and future-state operating models.
Drive process standardisation, workflow optimisation and automation opportunities to improve efficiency, strengthen controls and reduce risk.
Oversee critical finance system activities, including support for month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial close processes.
Maintain and enhance finance system documentation, governance frameworks, process maps and control procedures to support operational effectiveness.
Build strong stakeholder relationships and act as a trusted advisor on finance systems, governance, compliance and business process improvements.
What You Will Bring
Degree qualification in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology or a related discipline, with CPA or CA qualifications (or progress towards completion) highly regarded.
Extensive experience supporting JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.2 and 9.1 Finance modules within complex enterprise environments.
Strong understanding of financial processes, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, financial reporting and procure-to-pay operations.
Demonstrated expertise in finance systems governance, user access management, segregation of duties, audit controls and compliance frameworks.
Proven experience delivering system enhancements, upgrades, testing activities and finance transformation initiatives.
Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into practical system solutions.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset, with experience identifying opportunities to enhance controls, automation and operational performance.
