We are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join our team, located at our Archerfield Head Office. This is a permanent full-time, Monday to Friday role.

Reporting to the Finance Manager – Operations, this is a great opportunity for an accounting professional looking to broaden their experience across financial reporting, technical accounting, group reporting and external audit activities.

Working as part of a collaborative Finance team, you will support financial reporting requirements, contribute to technical accounting matters and assist with key business initiatives.

What you’ll be doing:

As a Senior Financial Accountant, your role will support these key areas:

Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting

  • Prepare accounting and reporting for leases, intercompany accounting and eliminations, foreign currency translation and hedge accounting.

  • Prepare technical accounting papers and position papers to support accounting conclusions and business decisions.

  • Support the application of IFRS and Group Accounting Policies across the business.

  • Assess the accounting implications of customer tenders and commercial arrangements.

  • Develop and maintain impairment and value-in-use models, including supporting assumptions and documentation.

  • Contribute to monthly, quarterly and annual group reporting requirements.

Audit & Compliance

  • Lead the coordination of external audit activities and act as a key point of contact for auditors.

  • Lead the preparation of audit deliverables, schedules and supporting documentation.

  • Support statutory reporting requirements and accounting disclosures.

  • Maintain compliance with accounting policies and internal controls.

Business Partnering & Team Support

  • Work collaboratively with the wider Finance team to support reporting, projects and business initiatives.

  • Share knowledge and work alongside team members to achieve reporting and business objectives.

  • Build effective relationships with stakeholders across the business.

  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes and controls.

What you’ll need:

A successful teammate will have:

  • CA or CPA qualified.

  • Experience in external audit, accounting advisory, financial reporting or a similar accounting role.

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, particularly IFRS 15 Revenue from Contracts with Customers and IFRS 16 Leases.

  • Experience preparing technical accounting papers and documenting accounting positions.

  • Strong financial reporting and audit experience.

  • Experience with accounting for heavy equipment sales, lease and after-sales contracts, impairment assessments, foreign currency translation and hedge accounting is highly regarded.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • A collaborative team player who enjoys building relationships and working with others to achieve outcomes.

  • Ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to a team environment.
