We are currently seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join our team based in Macquarie Park, NSW. Reporting to the Head of Finance, this role will oversee the full spectrum of financial accounting activities for the Australia and New Zealand entities, ensuring compliance with finance policies, tax laws and local regulations

Key responsibilities for this position include (but are not limited to):

  • Supervise the accounting and accounts payable (AP) functions by providing mentorship, guidance, and support.
  • Manage, oversee, and assist in the full spectrum of financial accounting, including month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Prepare accurate, timely financial statements, management reporting & corporate HQ reporting.
  • Oversee the preparation of general ledger reconciliations.
  • Coordinate and actively participate in internal and external audit engagements.
  • Drive the preparation of consolidated statutory financial statements and ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (GAAP/IFRS).
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including preparation and lodgement of the Income Tax Returns (ITR), Business Activity Statements (BAS), Instalment Activity Statements (IAS), Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT), and filing of withholding tax reports.
  • Prepare, approve, and post month-end journals, including payroll journals, ensuring the integrity of the general ledger.
  • Support the FP&A Manager during the budgeting and forecasting cycles.
  • Ensure that PPSR (Personal Property Securities Register) / PPSA (Personal Property Securities Act) registrations are completed in a timely manner.
  • Identify and implement strategies to streamline month-end processes.
  • Review and improve the balance sheet reconciliation system and process.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement across the accounting function.

The key skills required for this role include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Part Qualified/Qualified CPA / CA
  • Previous experience in team supervision/management
  • Previous experience in financial reporting and taxation.
  • Previous experience with ERP SAP.
  • Demonstrated proactive, adaptable approach with a proven ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience in a corporate/multinational environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel.
  • Demonstrated learning agility with strong problem-solving and analytical mindset.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all teams.
