We have a great opportunity for a highly experienced and motivated accounting professional to join our Financial Control team in the role of Senior Financial Accountant.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the purpose of this role is to own the financial accounting for our NSW operations. This role is responsible to deliver accurate monthly financial accounting, operational analysis to enable process improvement and provide strategic financial guidance to support business objectives.

Your ability to build strong working relationships with those within our wider business along with external stakeholders will be critical to your success.

This is a full-time role based in Alexandria with Flexible work arrangements – work from home.

More specifically, you will:

• Complete month-end accounting within set deadlines each month. 
• Complete reconciliations of all relevant balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
• Undertake analysis of month end results to investigate and understand variances to budget, forecast and prior periods.
• Deliver NSW results to the Senior Finance team every month.
• Support the Reporting and Analytics team on monthly reporting as well as during budget and forecast preparation.
• Calculate and manage Doctor remuneration in line with their respective contracts.
• Build relationships with key stakeholders in the business to be on top of the latest developments impacting the NSW business.
• Identify areas for process improvement to gain efficiencies and provide more relevant analysis.
• Assist with the annual audit process.
• Work on other projects and ad-hoc work as required

We’re interested in hearing from people who have: 

• Significant experience in financial accounting roles.
• Bachelor’s degree or experience considered equivalent.
• CA or CPA qualifications (or international equivalent).
• Experience with SAP not mandatory but would be an advantage.
• Ability to work on technical tasks autonomously.
• Experience in a senior financial accounting role/function with ownership of monthly close accounting process.
• Strong technical understanding of Australian Accounting Standards and Tax Law.
• A proven track record in influencing important stakeholders.
• Adaptability to and management of change and organisational transformation in high growth corporate environments.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels both verbal and written.
• Strong technical skills and experience in Finance and Accounting.
• Advanced excel skills.
• Ability to organise and control disparate Finance and Accounting systems.
• Strong business acumen and project management skills.
