As a Senior Financial Accountant, you will partner the business to oversee and ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and quality of all accounting and reporting produced by the offshore finance team.
You will act as the primary point of escalation for complex issues and drive accountability across deliverables. In this role, you will also proactively assess finance systems, processes, and procedures to ensure compliance with technical accounting standards, best practice, and business needs.
You’ll play a key role in fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the Finance function.
This will be a permanent, full-time position based in the Sydney office, with flexibility to work from home up to 3 days per week.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure compliance with regulatory and governance requirements
Lead the development and implementation of technical policies and control frameworks
Identify key transactions requiring technical review and establish best-practice procedures
Build and maintain productive stakeholder relationships, both internally and externally
Provide leadership, coaching, and development for finance team members
Drive system and process improvements to enhance efficiency and reporting accuracy
ABOUT YOU
CA/CPA qualified with 3-5 years’ post-qualification experience.
General insurance experience is essential, with a strong preference for workers’ compensation.
Strong technical accounting skills and knowledge of tax legislation.
Familiarity with APRA standards and reporting.
Background in Big-4 firm is advantageous.
