About the Role

We’re currently looking for a Senior Quality Engineer with a strong mix of functional and automation testing experience to join our consulting team.

This role is ideal for someone who is hands-on across both disciplines, with strong capability in Playwright/TypeScript, and a background in Banking or Financial Services. You’ll play a key role in building and scaling automation capability across complex enterprise systems.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable automation frameworks using Playwright (TypeScript) 
• Develop robust, reusable automation scripts (not record-and-playback) 
• Implement and optimise advanced locator strategies (dynamic selectors, stability improvements) 
• Troubleshoot and resolve flaky tests and automation failures, improving reliability 
• Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing 
• Perform API and integration automation, validating complex data flows across systems 
• Execute functional, integration, and end-to-end testing across enterprise platforms 
• Contribute to automation strategy and uplift, helping teams adopt best practices

What We’re Looking For

• Strong experience as a Hybrid Tester (Functional + Automation) 
• Hands-on expertise in Playwright with TypeScript 
• Proven ability to build automation frameworks from scratch 
• Mandatory experience within Banking or Financial Services environments 
• Strong understanding of automation design patterns (POM, modular frameworks, etc.) 
• Experience integrating automation into CI/CD environments (e.g. Jenkins, Azure DevOps) 
• Solid experience in integration testing across complex systems 
• Strong debugging skills and ability to analyse and resolve automation issues 
• Must have valid Australian work rights (no sponsorship available)
