Job Description

Your Opportunity

We’re looking for a hands-on Senior Integration Engineer to join our Engineering Practices team within Enterprise Technology Services.

In this build-and-run role, you will deploy, configure, maintain and harden the core integration infrastructure that underpins Cuscal’s enterprise integration capability. You will translate platform standards into automated, secure and highly available environments across development, staging and production.

You’ll also make an impact by:

• Deploying and operating integration technologies including Confluent/Kafka, IBM MQ, IBM ACE, Sterling Integrator, Control-M, MFT, API gateways, Azure Service Bus and Amazon SQS/SNS.

• Building infrastructure-as-code using Terraform, Ansible and Helm and managing secure CI/CD pipelines for platform deployments.

• Strengthening reliability through high availability, disaster recovery, failover testing and capacity planning.

• Implementing platform hardening, mTLS, certificate lifecycle management and secure secrets handling in partnership with Cyber Security.

• Creating monitoring dashboards, alerts, runbooks and operational handover artefacts that keep the platform supportable and audit-ready.

• Working with engineering, cloud, identity, cyber and vendor teams to resolve blockers and deliver consistent platform standards.

Qualifications

What you’ll bring

To succeed in this role, you’ll have:

• 8+ years of infrastructure or platform engineering experience, ideally within a regulated or large enterprise environment.

• Hands-on experience across at least three to four core integration technologies such as Confluent/Kafka, IBM MQ, IBM ACE, Sterling Integrator, Control-M, MFT, API gateways, Azure Service Bus or SQS/SNS.

• Strong infrastructure-as-code experience using Terraform, Ansible and Helm.

• Strong CI/CD pipeline design and management experience with secure deployment patterns and environment promotion.

• Experience supporting Kubernetes and Docker environments with a focus on operational reliability.

• Monitoring and observability experience using Grafana, Prometheus, ELK or equivalent tools.

• Working knowledge of mTLS, certificate management, secrets handling, Linux administration and scripting with Bash or Python.

• Clear communication skills and the ability to produce technical documentation, runbooks and operational updates.

You’ll stand out from the crowd if you have some of the following:

• Experience supporting disaster recovery test programs and enterprise messaging or event-streaming operations at scale.

• AWS or Azure cloud platform experience.

• Experience in banking, payments or financial systems with familiarity with PCI-DSS and APRA CPS 234 obligations.

• A bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or information technology or equivalent relevant experience.
