About the team:

Advise ASX on its legal and regulatory obligations and work closely and collaboratively with ASX’s business to achieve ASX’s objectives within an acceptable and well-understood risk framework.

What you will be doing:

  • Perform complex legal and regulatory analysis with a focus on delivery of solutions

  • Work closely and collaboratively with ASX’s business lines to provide advice that meet ASX’s business objectives within an acceptable and well-understood risk framework

  • Partner with the business to identify and implement legal risk mitigation strategies across the ASX business

  • Share your knowledge, skills and experience to lift capabilities across the legal team and existing business initiatives

  • Participate and build collaboration in cross functional teams

  • Develop peer external and internal contacts

What you will bring:

Must have

  • Trained in a leading law firm and built your skills and reputation in a challenging private practice and/or in-house role

  • 6 or more years of post-qualification experience, with a proven ability to work independently where appropriate

  • Built specialist expertise in financial markets and financial services regulation, with a desire to utilise those skills and to advise on additional subject matter areas including in relation to corporate, general commercial, governance and regulatory matters

  • Strong academic and professional qualifications

  • Won the respect and recognition of your peers for integrity and legal excellence

Nice to have:        

  • Experience in corporate law

  • Experience in technology law and contracting will be highly regarded

  • Dealing with regulators in Australia or overseas

  • Experience in the operation of the financial services, markets or clearing and settlement facilities industry

  • Experience in another highly-regulated industry

  • Demonstrated interest in the intersection of law and technology
