Job Description

At TAL, the Senior Manager, Claims Tax Operations plays a vital role in helping us deliver on our promise to be there when our customers need us most. Leading the operational governance of PAYG withholding obligations across claims and investments, this role helps ensure customers, partners and regulators can rely on accurate, compliant and transparent outcomes. By connecting technical expertise with operational excellence, the role supports trust, confidence and financial wellbeing for the people and communities we serve.

In this role you will:

  • Lead the end-to-end PAYG withholding program, ensuring accurate, compliant and consistent customer outcomes.
  • Own PAYG rules, rates and calculation logic across claims and investment products to maintain legislative compliance.
  • Oversee PAYG system configuration and controls, ensuring reliable and accurate withholding outcomes.
  • Drive regulatory reporting and lodgement obligations, delivering timely and accurate submissions to the ATO and key stakeholders.
  • Partner with the Tax Team and senior stakeholders to translate complex legislative requirements into effective operational solutions.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvements that strengthen compliance, reduce risk and enhance operational efficiency.

 

Qualifications

  • Bring experience in tax, claims, compliance or financial services operations, with an understanding of PAYG withholding and regulatory obligations.
  • Apply strong attention to detail to deliver accurate outcomes in a highly regulated and customer-focused environment.
  • Communicate complex information clearly, adapting your approach for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Build trusted partnerships across teams, working collaboratively with stakeholders to solve problems and achieve shared outcomes.
  • Take ownership and accountability, proactively managing risks, identifying issues and following through on commitments.
  • Drive continuous improvement, using curiosity and initiative to enhance processes, systems and customer outcomes in a changing environment
