The Payments Policy Department is looking for two Senior Managers in the Clearing and Settlement Section.

Payments Policy is responsible for the RBA’s payments system policy, regulatory and oversight functions. We help the RBA meet its objectives of promoting the stability, efficiency and competitiveness of the payments system. The Clearing and Settlement Section undertakes a formal regulatory role to ensure that the infrastructure supporting the clearing and settlement of transactions in financial markets is operated in a way that promotes financial stability.

The role

As part of the senior leadership team in Payments Policy, you will lead a multi-disciplinary team of professionals to supervise clearing and settlement facilities licenced in Australia.  You will advise the RBA’s Payments System Board on strategies to protect financial system stability at this time of change and innovation.  These roles provide the opportunity to lead the consideration of financial risk, technology and operational risk and governance of clearing and settlement facilities in Australia.  During this exciting period, the Clearing and Settlement Section is also implementing significant law reform equipping the RBA with crisis management powers.

As part of the Payments Policy leadership team, you will join a collaborative team of professionals committed to public service.  Our team is committed to public policy excellence and also to helping our staff grow and thrive in a supportive environment.

You will report to the Deputy Head (Clearing and Settlement Supervision), Payments Policy Department.  You will work closely and collaboratively with your co-Senior Manager leading a team of up to 9 people.
