Senior Manager Communications – Risk and Compliance

Risk Management (RM) is responsible for developing and communicating CBA’s risk management frameworks to allow CBA to take conscious exposures to credit, market, operational, compliance and insurance risks within the approved risk appetite.

This team provides Line 2 oversight for the Group Support Units (GSU) and does execution, advisory, acceptance and approval of Operational Risk, Compliance and Assurance activities.

The Customer Communications Review (the Program) is re-imagining the way we communicate with our customers, giving the customer greater choice in how we do this and contributing to our NPS+30 ambition.  It also includes co-ordinating and delivering the program of work to address and close the Australian Communications and Media Authority Enforceable Undertaking (ACMA EU).

The Program sits in the Marketing and Corporate Affairs Support Unit which is one of the GSU.

Do work that matters:

As a Senior Manager, you will be responsible for L2 operational risk and compliance support for the Program.  This includes delivery of Framework requirements as they relate to MCA and the Program as well as the co-ordination of this across the other L2 teams.  Additionally, it covers the L2 governance requirements at a Program level as well as L2 technical input (or co-ordination of other L2 input) for key workstreams.  This role reports to the EM Communications – Risk and Compliance.

This role is responsible for:

L2 Framework requirements

  • RCSA / CSA Trigger events: execution for MCA and co-ordination for other relevant Profiles in the Group including consistency review of outcomes across the Group.

  • Change Management Risk Standard (CMRS): oversight and co-ordination as required of Key Control and Exposure Actions.

  • Issue and Incident management for the Program.

  • CAP Assurance for controls in-scope of the Implementation Plan: completion and co-ordination as required across other L2 teams.

Governance

  • Participation in key Pace ceremonies and forums for the Program.

  • L2 reporting for Steering Committee, ELT NFRC and Board.

  • Execution and co-ordination as required of L2 approval for closure of Implementation Plan Findings / Actions.

  • Leading L2 engagement with the Independent Consultant.

  • L2 support for Regulatory interactions and EU Compliance Reports.

  • Leading execution and reporting outcomes of Chief Compliance Officer accountabilities in the EU.

SME / Technical input

  • Complaints management: technical support for review of Spam Act-related complaints received internally and directly from the Regulator.

  • Training: content input and approval of Spam Act-related training.  Additional delivery of informal training as required to support capability build and awareness across the Group.

  • Policy / Procedure: contribution to and approval of Policy and Procedure that support compliance with the Spam Act including appropriate Monitoring Plans.

  • Preference Centre: review of requirements and approval of design and delivery (including engagement of other L2 teams as required).

  • Terms and Conditions: support for the harmonisation of Terms and Conditions across the Group.

We're interested in hearing from people who have:

  • The ability to hit the ground running as a proven Senior Manager.

  • Extensive experience in Risk and Compliance within a complex environment, with a professional services or financial services background being highly desirable.

  • Strong Compliance and/or Legal knowledge.

  • A proven track record in influencing and building trusted relationships with multiple and complex stakeholders.

  • Sound knowledge of Operational and Compliance risk management tools & techniques (including assurance, governance and reporting).

  • Ability to demonstrate independence, provide oversight and challenge on risk-related decisions and processes.

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and an ever-changing regulatory environment.

  • Teamwork focus with excellence in driving results and delivering customer satisfaction.
