Job Description

In this role, you will play a key part of enabling effective risk management practices across TAL by sharing subject matter expertise in control assurance, testing methodologies and risk and control oversight. This role will play a crucial role in the ongoing enhancement of control assurance capabilities across TAL. You will be responsible for supporting the Head of Enterprise Risk and Assurance in developing and maintaining the control assurance framework and standards at TAL.

You will lead the control assurance team to ensure TAL’s control assurance program is completed in a timely and effective manner. You will be responsible for overseeing and sharing the outcomes of control assurance with senior leader and providing recommendations to the business to rectify identified issues or areas for further improvement. Additionally, you will work closely with assurance functions across the Three Lines of Accountability to optimise assurance activities to provide a holistic view of TAL’s control environment.

In this role you will:

  • Design and embed control assurance framework, standards, methodologies at TAL.
  • Execute control assurance activities and reviews.
  • Deliver robust and timely risk and compliance advice to the business.
  • Monitor the quality, delivery and embedment of the Controls Assurance Program at TAL.
  • Develop assurance capability and skillset within the team and the broader risk community at TAL.
  • Independently review and challenge the rigour of Line 1 assurance activities.

Qualifications

  • At least 8 years of experience working in risk and compliance, preferably in the financial services industry and with a focus on control assurance activities.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong relationship development, management and negotiation skills
  • Excellent organisation skills and ability to deal with and meet constant and short deadlines
  • Ability to manage, lead, influence stakeholders
