Your Impact

As the Senior Manager, Finance, you will report to the Senior Director, Group Financial Controller in managing statutory and management reporting, financial governance, accounting policy matters and business strategic projects across Australian jurisdictions. This will be a 6 to 8 month fixed term contract role covering parental leave.

You will play a key leadership role in overseeing complex accounting matters, guiding the AU finance team, and supporting strategic transactions and asset monetization projects in partnership with Group and regional stakeholders.

What You'll Do

Leadership and Team Management 

  • Lead and develop the Australia finance reporting team, providing coaching, direction, and technical guidance to ensure delivery of high-quality reporting outputs. 
  • Build capability and drive maturity in reporting processes, strengthening controls, timelines, and alignment with Group standards. 
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the AU finance function. 

Statutory and Management Reporting 

  • Oversee the statutory and management reporting obligations for all Australia entities, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with Group policies and AASB/IFRS. 
  • Lead month-end close activities, ensuring key deliverables are met, intercompany balances are reconciled, and reporting packs are submitted on time. 
  • Review financial results, identify variances, and provide commentary and insights to management and Group stakeholders. 
  • Oversee the preparation and audit of statutory financial statements, managing external auditor relationships and ensuring smooth year-end sign-off. 

Process and Transformation 

  • Drive process standardization and improvement across AU reporting, focusing on efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. 
  • Partner with Group Reporting and Systems teams to support automation and system enhancements for consolidation and statutory and management reporting tools. 
  • Strengthen governance, documentation, and control frameworks to support sustainable reporting excellence. 
  • Champion a continuous improvement mindset and lead initiatives that align with the Group’s finance transformation agenda. 

Cross Functional Team Collaboration 

  • Partner closely with cross functional teams; Group Reporting, Finance Operations, FP&A, Tax, Legal, Treasury, and regional Financial Control teams to drive alignment across deliverables. 
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, proactive-problem-solving, and operational excellence within Finance. 
What You'll Bring
  • Qualified Accountant (CA/CPA or equivalent) with 10-15 years’ experience in financial reporting, controllership, or technical accounting, preferably with multinational or high-growth organizations. 
  • Strong knowledge of AASB and IFRS, with experience in accounting for complex transactions and preparing accounting position papers. 
  • Proven experience in team leadership and coaching, managing small, high-performing teams. 
  • Demonstrated capability in statutory reporting, month-end close, and audit management. 
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to partner effectively with Group, Tax, Legal, Treasury and external auditors. 
  • Strategic mindset with a passion for process improvement, transformation, and team development. 
  • Hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
