This is a newly created leadership opportunity to shape and embed the RBA’s next-generation on-premises infrastructure services. You will lead a team of approximately 25 IT professionals, overseeing the transition and operationalisation of the new infrastructure platforms that are currently being implemented.
About the role
- Team Leadership & Establishment - Build and lead the Infrastructure Transition team, ensuring successful handover and ongoing management of new infrastructure platforms.
- Infrastructure Operations and IT Controls - Oversee the delivery and support of on-premises infrastructure services, including networks, compute, storage, databases, and automation platforms, in line with RBA policies and SLAs. Embed and operationalise IT Controls in the infrastructure services.
- Infrastructure Automation - Drive the adoption and integration of infrastructure automation practices (e.g., Infrastructure as Code) to improve efficiency, consistency, and scalability.
- Service Management & Compliance- Ensure services are delivered in accordance with ITIL-based service management processes, maintaining compliance with internal standards and external regulations.
- Strategic Contribution - Collaborate with IT leadership to align infrastructure capabilities with the Bank’s strategic goals, contributing to planning, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- People & Performance Management - Lead, coach, and develop individuals and teams. Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, learning, and service excellence.
- Risk & Issue Management - Proactively identify and mitigate risks and issues, ensuring operational resilience and timely delivery of technology solutions.
- Stakeholder Engagement - Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including project teams, IT Shared Services, Risk, Security, and Finance.
About you
You bring a strong background in IT infrastructure leadership, ideally within a regulated or critical industry such as finance, energy, or healthcare. You are passionate about operational excellence, automation, and leading high-performing teams.
Essential Experience & Skills
- 10+ years in senior IT leadership roles, with a focus on infrastructure operations and transformation.
- Proven experience managing 24x7 critical infrastructure environments aligned to ITIL.
- Strong expertise in infrastructure automation and modernisation practices.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams, including coaching managers and driving functional strategy.
- Skilled in risk management, issue resolution, and delivering reliable, resilient technology services.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business value.
- Deep understanding of infrastructure lifecycle management and support.
