About The Role

We're looking for a Senior Manager in Lending Compliance who is excited by the opportunity to help build something from the ground up.

You'll help build the compliance foundations for Lendi Group's home lending business, designing practical frameworks, controls and governance that support a scalable lending model.

Partnering across Product, Lending, Operations, Technology, Legal and Risk & Compliance, you'll embed compliance into our products and processes from day one. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building from scratch, navigating ambiguity and turning regulatory requirements into practical business outcomes.

This is a 10-month contract, with the potential to become permanent once the design and build phase is complete, depending on project progress and ongoing business needs.

Job Description

  • Design and embed our lending compliance framework: Develop and implement practical compliance frameworks, controls and governance that support a scalable lending business and align with Lendi Group's enterprise risk framework.
  • Partner across the business: Work closely with Product, Lending, Operations, Technology, Legal, Risk & Compliance and external partners to ensure compliance requirements are built into products, processes and customer journeys from the outset.
  • Drive customer outcomes and conduct oversight: Provide compliance oversight across responsible lending, Best Interests Duty, hardship, complaints, broker distribution and other key customer outcome obligations.
  • Lead compliance monitoring and governance: Develop and operate a risk-based monitoring program, identifying emerging risks, control gaps and opportunities for continuous improvement while supporting clear governance reporting.
  • Support regulatory change and issue management: Lead or support regulatory change initiatives, compliance incidents, breach assessments and remediation activities, translating regulatory obligations into practical business outcomes.
  • Strengthen partner oversight: Help oversee external funders, servicers and service providers by monitoring compliance performance, control effectiveness and customer outcomes.
  • Support technology-enabled compliance: Partner with Technology and Data teams to ensure digital lending processes, automation and AI-enabled workflows have appropriate compliance controls and governance.
  • Provide trusted advice: Prepare clear recommendations, governance papers and reporting for senior leadership, helping the business make informed, risk-based decisions.

Qualifications

  • What You'll Bring:
    • Significant experience in lending compliance, regulatory compliance, mortgage broking, banking, non-bank lending or financial services.
    • Strong knowledge of Australian credit regulation, responsible lending, Best Interests Duty, hardship, complaints, breach reporting and customer outcome obligations.
    • Experience designing and implementing compliance frameworks, monitoring programs, governance processes and practical controls.
    • Strong understanding of regulated financial services environments and risk management frameworks.
    • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and challenge constructively across senior business leaders and external partners.
    • Strong commercial judgement, with the ability to balance regulatory obligations and business outcomes.
    • Excellent written communication skills, including preparing governance papers, recommendations and executive reporting.
    • A practical, hands-on approach with the ability to build structure and deliver outcomes in a fast-moving environment.
  • Nice to Have:
    • Experience within an ACL holder, bank, non-bank lender, aggregator, mortgage manager, fintech or specialist lending environment.
    • Exposure to outsourced servicing models, white-label lending, funder arrangements or mortgage management structures.
    • Experience supporting regulatory change, compliance monitoring, control assurance or internal audit readiness.
    • Experience working with ASIC, AFCA, external auditors, funders or independent assurance reviews.
    • Understanding of digital lending, automation, data-led processes or AI-enabled financial services.
