What's so exciting about this role?

Enterprise Risk Management is a critical function managed within Group Risk, which functionally sits with the Group Chief Risk Officer. This team also holds accountability for delivery of all Credit Risk, Collections and Fraud activities across the Group.

What Does An Average Day Look Like?

No day is average at hummgroup but here’s an idea of what you can expect to do in this role:

Reporting to the Head of Enterprise Risk, you will be responsible for advising on risks, controls, governance, reporting and incident management. You will operate with a high degree of autonomy and independence, influencing senior leaders and presenting at committees. Additionally, you will support initiatives to uplift the risk culture and risk management framework at the Humm Group.

Here is an idea of what you can expect to do as a Senior Manager, Risk Governance:

  • Risk Governance – design and maintain reporting processes that capture analyse and present key risk information to senior management, and risk boards and committees
  • Implement governance around key processes
  • Risk Reporting – develop high quality, clearly articulated risk reports for senior management, risk committees and boards.
  • Incident Management – oversee the management of incidents and breach assessment, investigate and analyse incidents and issues and implementing corrective action.
  • Leading a healthy risk culture via team member education and proactive engagement with the business, including internal stakeholders at all levels.
  • Overseeing the management of incidents and the breach assessment process, in conjunction with the Head of Compliance. 
  • Partnering with business units to support risk and control identification and assessments.
  • Developing high quality risk reports for senior management, risk committees and boards.
  • Ensuring the consistent implementation of the risk framework, policies and procedures.
  • Working closely with senior management to enhance the BCP Policy.
  • Supporting the improvement in risk culture and work to improve risk management practices
  • Advocating for the use of appropriate tools, practices and frameworks to enable execution of risk reduction and proactive risk management.
  • Developing and running risk training where appropriate.

Who will thrive in this role?

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in an operational risk or related environment within financial services in Australia;
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of operational risk principles and working with GRC systems (e.g. Protecht).
  • An understanding of business continuity frameworks.
  • A natural communicator, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills who can influence positive outcomes.
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders from varying business units
  • Experience in a regulated lending environment.
